Echium vulgare (also known as Viper's bugloss), is a native British wildflower, bearing spikes of pretty blue and pink flowers over rosettes of blue-green, spiky leaves. A member of the borage family, it's one of the best plants for bees as its flowers are loaded with nectar and – unlike most flowering plants – continue producing nectar throughout the day.
